Donald is a general practitioner who has worked in Christchurch since 2010. He qualified from Stellenbosch University (South Africa) in 1997, where he studied further in Biodynamic Impulsation/myofascial release, nutrition and therapeutic movement (Martial Arts and Pilates). He later completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology before entering General Practice.

 

Donald has a keen interest in holistic, patient-centred medicine committed to human development and growth through the illness experience.

Catherine joined our team in January 2016. She is from South of India (Pondicherry) and she completed her basic medical degree at St John's Medical College, Bangalore, India. She did her post graduation in paediatrics and in general practice in the UK and worked there as a GP for a few years before moving to NZ. Her special interests are family planning, sexual health, woman and child health. She enjoys teaching and training medical students and GP Registrars. She likes cycling, travelling, cooking and spending time with her family.

 

Dr Edward Wright

Edd grew up in the UK and trained at Barts and the London Medical School. Having been a Bristol based GP for seven years, he decided to move to Christchurch for a number of reasons, including the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and to be closer to his partners side of the family. He enjoys being a GP due to the variety, but also the continuity of care it allows.

Elena graduated from Medical University in Russia in 1981 with a degree in general practice, including complementary medicine and healing. Following 7 years of practice as a GP, she specialized as an Ear-Nose & Throat specialist and was working in that field for 7 years.

 

In 1995 Elena immigrated to New Zealand. She decided not to complete her New Zealand medical registration.

 

In 2001 she began a career as a Laser Therapist. She had already studied Laser Therapy in Russia, as part of her medical degree. Since then Elena has combined her vast skill and experience as a Medical Doctor and complementary therapist in her practice as a Magnetic Laser Therapist. She uses her knowledge to assist people to optimize their health.

 

Emma Fairs

Emma is a Registered Osteopath who trained in the UK where she worked for 2 years before moving to New Zealand.

 

Emma has been working in Christchurch for the last 13 years, in her private practice; her main clinical focus has been the Osteopathic management of Obstetric and Paediatric patients.

 

Emma has been involved in the development of Osteopathy in NZ; both the regulation of the profession and the development of a training programme. For the last 10 years she has been an elected member of the Osteopathic Society of New Zealand (OSNZ) Committee; initially organising the supply of Post Graduate education in NZ, and for the last 4 years in the position of OSNZ President.

 

She was part of the NZQA panel that Accredited the Masters Degree in Osteopathy at Unitec, Auckland; and for 4 years acted as one of the 2 monitors for the supply of the Degree.

 

Emma has given a range of lectures to groups in the Canterbury region, including under-graduate and post graduate members of the Midwifery profession.

Rita Noetzel has diplomas in Therapeutic Massage, Rhythmical Massage and is also a qualified Dr. Hauschka Aesthetician. She has been involved in complementary medicine since 1987 and offers a wide range of treatments which are tailored to the client’s specific needs.

 

Massage therapy has proven to be useful for a wide range of conditions – some of which are – stress relief, muscle tension, depression, RSI, headaches, sciatica and arthritis. The effect on the physical body reflects in the mental wellbeing of the person as well.

 

Rita uses a holistic approach to wellness and also co-founded and helps to run, The Clown Doctors New Zealand charitable trust - where humour is used in hospitals for a therapeutic purpose and to promote health.

 

Sarah Wisson

Sarah is a UK trained Registered Osteopath. Over the past 10 years Sarah has worked in the UK, in numerous practices, running her own practice in Bedford, and has worked for various professional sports clubs. For the last 6 years she has been in Christchurch in her private practice alongside Emma.

 

Her main Osteopathic focus is on Paediatric and Obstetrics, Sports injuries and Animals. (UK trained) Sarah for the past 7 years has divided her week into human and animal clients.In 2006 Sarah became an examiner for the Osteopathic council.

 

Shona Tupper

Shona Tupper – Registered Nurse

Shona has many years experience as a Registered Nurse in General Practice and Anthroposophic nursing, which offers a spiritual insight to the care of the human being.

 

She takes an active role in the Anthroposophic Nursing Association and Training in New Zealand which is part of a world wide movement centred in the International Forum of Anthroposophic Nursing in Switzerland.

 

She has a particular interest in nursing care of the disabled and aged care, and brings an holistic approach to health.

 

Shona also facilitates an education and support group to parents, sharing an holistic approach to establishing confidence and skills in child care, health and development.

 

Simone Hamblett

I have studied Eurythmy in Germany and Holland and live since 1995 in NZ. I have two almost adult aged children and am a teacher of Eurythmy at the Rudolf Steiner School Otautahi since the year 1999.

 

Since then I have taught many classes and given talks for teachers and parents on the theme of Eurythmy and its educational and therapeutic benefits.

 

In 2012 I began the study of Eurythmy Therapy and have completed this in 2014.

 

Since 2015 I also hold a certificate as a "Peter Hess Sound massage practitioner" (Germany).

 

I work as a movement therapist at the Helios integrative medical centre with individual adults, small groups and children.

Anita is Passionate about inspiring, motivating and guiding clients towards heathy eating. Consultations provide individualized dietary advice and solutions specific to client’s needs, with an emphasis on wholefoods. Anita works with a variety of areas including Women’s health, IBS, food allergy and intolerance, weight management and inflammation.

Anita has worked as a Practitioner of Complementary health care for over 20 years. Initially Training and graduating as a Medical Herbalist in the UK in 1992, she then went on to obtain a degree in health science majoring in Human Nutrition and Complementary medicine, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Nutrition form the University of Otago. Anita has worked in private practice in Christchurch for 15 years.

Carole Olivera

Carole Olivera completed her Bachelor of Sport Science at the University of Bern in Switzerland. Over the last 20 years she has worked for various Health and Fitness Centers, Sports Clubs in Switzerland and New Zealand.

After gaining her Diploma for Sports and Deep Tissue Massage in Switzerland she worked alongside various Sports doctors and taught at the College of Therapeutic Massage in Zurich.

Since she settled in New Zealand 15 years ago, she has been running her own practice and been contracting to various Health and Fitness establishments.

In 2013, she completed her Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Christchurch and has been running her own clinic as well as working as a Personal Trainer specialized in muscular disbalances and functional training.

Carole’s main goal is to help her clients to good health and giving them the tools to stay mobile and healthy.

Adam Ren

Adam Ren – Acupuncturist

Adam is a professional, degree-qualified acupuncturist and Chinese medicinal herbalist, holding an eight year Masters degrees from Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He is a member of the New Zealand Acupuncture Standards Authority Inc., the professional association for acupuncture practitioners in New Zealand. He has 10 years’ experience in Chinese government hospitals. Adam has successfully treated countless cases of illness and injury during his many years of practice in both China and New Zealand.

During Adam's time in Christchurch he has worked alongside various medical professionals, and continues to successfully treat many sports injuries including those related to golf and rugby.

While Adam treats a broad range of conditions, his main area of clinical interest is sports injuries and weight loss.
